First Customer

The Chinese branch of our company has a first customer. His name is Pat Ramsden. He owns a franchise of Intelligent Office. He needs some software to help manage his customers. We met over skype in order to discuss what his requirements were. It became quickly apparent that we did not have a framework in place for long-distance customers to specify and track progress on requirements. We looked at a number of such web-based project management softwares, such as Trac, XPWeb, and ExtremePlanner. He most like ExtremePlanner, but it was just too expensive for us to purchase. In the end we decided that our first project would actually be to write such a web-based project management application. It won't make money but it should make our future projects (including Pat's) go much more smoothly.
